There are a few things I've discovered concerning people and fire. I do mean literal match striking, fuel burning, food cooking fire.
First of all, it's hot to the human touch. Secondly, all people depend on it to some degree. Thirdly, when any type of structure catches on fire, whether it be a residential place, or a public facility, people inside will always try to come out. If anyone is unable to get out, someone will go back to get them out. If one catches on fire in the building, he desparately
heads to the outside. Fourthly, If they make it to the outside, they broad- cast the adventure, and finally, they tell the officials and community as to how the fire started.
From Pentecost, even until now, God has purposed the church to re-act in the same like manner. He never intended for the church to be on fire and stay in our typical worship centers. We continuosly leave out of one building and go to another that's supposebly on fire with the Holy Ghost also. But, he gave believers the fire power to make haste to hurry out of the complex to ignite the world by telling them how their fire started, and who's responsible.
Let's examine Acts 1:13-15 ! Only one hundred and twenty souls were gathered in the upper room in Jerusalem. ( our church assembly, ). They received the fire power in Chapter 2:1-4. I can't believe that all of the people that were in Jerusalem during this outpouring were in this small upper room. The one hundred and twenty had to take their power to witness to the streets. This is precisely what God wants the church to experience today, that is, catch on fire inside and burn in the streets.
Remember this ! A live church is one that makes it top priority to win the lost to Christ. But, a dead church is one that's constantly putting on indoor programs without putting fort effort to win the lost.
The Lord Jesus at the age of twelve was found
engaging in the Father's business :
( Luke 2:49 ) And he said unto them, how is it that ye sought me? Did ye not know that I must be about my Father's business ?
The Lord's purpose on earth was not merely to pay our sin debt and save us, but he also set a pattern for all saved people to follow. Just as he served as a witness to the Father and his kingdom, we are to be a witness unto Jesus, according to Acts 1:8.
Our prayer is that all true believers will be able to discern the importance of the Father's top priority business, and that is to win the lost to him.
